Exhibits and Other Historical Interpretation

Interpretation links the past to today. Museum exhibits, slide shows and videos, markers on a trail, and guided tours for pedestrians and motorists are among the means commonly used to present historical overviews, as well as more detailed information on specific topics. Each type of interpretation has advantages and limitations. Identifying the target audience and the goals of the interpretation help to guide the selection of format, narrative, and graphics.
